A cheap headlamp turns out to be one of the better bedtime tools nobody tells you about

Hand a headlamp to a kid and it stops being a parent tool. It becomes cave-exploring gear, fort-building gear, the reason the blanket fort under the dining table suddenly has "real" lighting. It gets more use during pretend expeditions than it ever does at bedtime.

That's actually the real test for one of these: does it survive a kid grabbing it, dropping it, and wearing it upside down for twenty minutes. Then it still needs to do the boring adult job too: finding a dropped pacifier under the crib, or getting through a middle-of-the-night diaper change without flipping on the big light and waking everyone up the rest of the way.

Cheap, USB-C rechargeable, and a red-light mode that's genuinely useful at 2am and not just a gimmick. As a dad of two, this is the kind of dumb-simple gear I'd trust to earn a permanent spot in the house.
